i just got a new mb with a "C-Media CMI9739A 6-channel audio CODEC" , but for some reason, the mic sound is really low. I updated the driver, checked the "boost" option in volum properity...but the mic is still really low. is there a way around this? its not my sound, i can hear stuff fine, but its just when i try to use my mic, the output is really low

oh, another thing, the motherboard, ecs 648fx-a says it supports agp 4x/8x, but when i use 3dmark 01 and go to system info, it says my agp slot is rated at 1x,2x,4x...no 8x?

I suspect that 3DMark01 does not know that 8x AGP is available. It is a little out of date after all.

i dont think that's the problem because i checked with 3dmark03, and it says its rate at 1x,2x,4x also..no 8x :(

P.S. anyone here have a fix to my sound issue? :(

What video card is it?
what drivers are installed?

i am currently using a pci card at the momment...but im planning on getting an 8x card. I want to make sure i get this sort out before i buy one...prob tomorrow or sunday. i know the difference between 8x and 4x isnt that much...if any, but i still want that 8x damnit. Even im using a pci, shouldnt it still display my agp port as 8x? i have all the drivers for my mobo installled, including the agp driver.

there isnt an option in my bios to change the agp to 8x or 4x...i spent 20 minutes checking

Don't worry. That board supports 8X AGP. As lynx said, 3DMark01 is old.

No idea about the mic.

Maybe you need to isntall chipset drivers for it to show in 3dmark03.

oh well doesn't matter just wait till you get an agp card before trying tofigure this out.

for the sound you might have to use some third party sound booster program or a stereo to amplify the sound before it goes into the computer. ;)
