Let's have a thread for the positive aspects of bonfire night.

What are people's plans tonight?

I may go up to the Plymouth Hoe to watch the display depending on the weather. They have some great shows up there on the breakwater, truly awesome.

I will probably go to the bridge at the end of my road and watch from there. Its quote high up so I get to see a lot of the displays going off in London as well as the two big local ones

I've never seen fireworks when I've gone down on a Plymouth ho'

I'm off down my Mam and Dads to light the fireworks for the kiddies. It'll probably piss down again but the free beer makes that bearable. Well, that and the cwtchs afterwards cause I get to be their hero for a night :D

All I can hear out of my window is the screams of people getting blown up all over the place by drunken people throwing fireworks and the chokes of people asphyxiating from the fumes of bonfires made totally of car tires. :(

Our local council hold a big fireworks display every year in one of the many parks in the town. there is no charge. It is going on at the moment and was preceded by three bands playing to the audience. It is happening a few hundred yard from me.

It cost the council a lot of money to run this every year. I think the fireworks alone costs about £50,000. But has proved a big success by reducing the number of accidents and fire call outs. This is what happens when the people are socially minded and socially run.
