different countries have different timezones

mine is 14 hours left. dunno whether that's true or not because the flash applet seems to be calculating according to my system clock.

uNz[i] would probably have 10 hours left by now.
which country u from, uNz[i]? must be from the eastern side of Asia, right? ;)

Well.. I'm south and yeah, a bit east of Asia - Australia, actually. :)

As of the time of this post, that flash applet tells me there's still another 10 mins to go.
That's odd, seeing as it's now 1 hour after the time that applet originally said FF would go final.

I guess that's what I get for having faith in a frickin' flash file.

Just want to be sure.

Uninstall the old version first in the usual manner, then install 1.0 to the same directory the old version was in.
All your existing settings should be safe, as long as you don't delete your Firefox profile folder, which is in
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox

The profile folder is purposely left intact when you uninstall an old FF version, in case you want to update it and not lose your settings, bookmarks and passwords.

Oh.. btw, that flash applet is now showing time in the negative for me...
http://www.sighost.us/members/unz/bah.png
...but 1.0PR is still all thats on offer from the download site.

So in an effort to redeem myself, I went sniffing around the Mozillazine forum for a release time, and this looks like the best guess so far:

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=936244#936244

...and Ben Goodger (FF's lead developer) is shooting for an early morning release, by the look of it.
http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/ben/archives/006872.html

Ben's timezone is Pacific Standard Time: GMT -8

Mozilla HQ is in California. So unless you live on the west coast of the US, I'd ignore that timer.
It's wrong in other timezones.

firefox 1.0 seems to be already available in their ftp server. but i dun see the firefox homepage updated in any way to include it.

edit: to ignite the downloading frenzy here in FileSharing Talk...i include this link
(not necessary anymore)

edit again: a few minutes after i post the supposed link in the edit above...the official website has finally included the official link to 1.0!!! GO DOWNLOAD NOW!!!

Thanks gildan. :)

Downloaded it, but damn... that server must be getting slammed!
I only got 2.5K/sec using Flashget, and it had to retry 13 times.

That sucks even for dialup.

Now lets see what we have here..

And NONE of the old extensions are compatible either.. so I got a pile of updating to do.

Make Firefox FASTER ;)

Type "about:config" in your FireFox address bar. The settings you're looking for are:

1.) network.http.pipelining
2.) network.http.pipelining.firstrequest
3.) network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
4.) network.http.proxy.pipelining

Set #1, #2, and #4 to "true". Set #3 to a high number, I have 12.

yup, that's because ur settings are not located in the same place as the Firefox main installation folder.

give bugmenot some time, it'll get updated sooner or later :)
