Yup Ghost 2003 is great but I will tell all STAY AWAY from 9.0 its utter shit and caused me fkin headaches and come to find out while yacking with fkdup74 that it writes a fkdup ASPI and is a fkin shit fk one at that. Not to mention if you actually have to run a backup its fkin slower to to use than the prior version. It does have some new features like create image without reboot but its still crap...

After using ghost for more than a yr, it started creating unbootable disks & more fd up sh*t.

But AME (see my sig) has never EVER failed me in over 2 yrs.

I guess dvd-rw 's are out of the question then! I thought that would be a great use for them, with ghost I mean. :)

I just use the little ghost.exe from the floppy.
Its rather simple. Image to Partition, or, Partition to Image.
Pack it as max. Burn it on DVD.

Allthought, I downloaded the Ultimate Windows Boot CD form snova sometime ago,
that has the Acronis and feckalotta other-cool-tools, i've yet to try Acronis.
It's on my to-do-list.

:)

Ive used other Acrions products and them to be very good whereas Ive learned to despise Norton, Ghost 2003 is still something I use since it has never let me down although 9.0 did. I will most likely move to Acrions when I get a chance also...

Acronis pwns joo! :P
/me likes...but....
one thing, it didnt wanna work with my dvd-rs too well
so i had to backup to 13 cd-rs
wasnt cheap media either, fkn maxell $3000 a disc mofos :O
they burn fine with dvd video, software backup, etc.
so i think i just need to update acronis, cuz it dont like em

but....my ASPI layer is still intact, my drives have been backed up,
and although ghost seemed to work well with dvd-r, i still hate it :P

ghost is fine if you:
a. dont have an ASPI layer already installed, or...
b. want to NOT deal with acronis bein picky about dvd-r media
(which is only in my experience, others may have got acronis to write to dvd-r)

@kenny , I'm no expert either but found ghost 2003 from NSW almost idiot proof. :D Mind you I was using a DVD rw .

No idea if I have an ASPI layer or not, but will give it a go anyway.
Will shout for help if I need it.
Thanks Guys....again
