i need help so i can choose which OS to boot into when i start my pc

this is XP's boot.ini

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows ME" /fastdetect

ive tried several configurations but this seems to be the odd one out because the error says cant find hal.dll as opposed to the usual window cant boot to this drive.

i dont think its a problem with ME either cos it works fine when i physically remove primary master

I think it's because windows ME\98\95 has to be before windows 2000\xp.

really teh easiest way is to just install ME on the main drive then install windows XP after words onto a secondary drive.

not sure how you can do it now. :unsure:

did you get the boot problem fixed? I used to dual boot, and best i remember, the oldest OS goes on first. as far as a hal.dll....beats me, never seen it
