I like WinImage for creating floppy images

Alternativly you could use the diskcopy command in DOS

Well, if I get this right, yes you can copy the files from a floppy to HD.

But, if its DOS disc or similar, you'll need to system files for starting up the PC
from the floppy.

ya make sure yuou can see hidden files and system files and all that then just copy the floppy's contents to your hard drive somewhere.

if you use WinImage you can make them self extracting (.exe) and when they are run they will written to disk for you

PS I think that this is what the boot disks are like from bootdisk.com
