Hi everybody,
some of you might remember that I was talking about
buying a new PC,
well, I finaly did...
--(Intel Celeron 2.5GHz
-- 256Mb Ram.
-- 80G Hard Drive,
-- CD/DVD+-Rw
-- Windows Xp Pro.
-- etc...)
but I was thinking of geting an extra Hard Drive,
this, with the purpose of puting all my music, (downloads and Cd
backups) in this one...
To be realistic, I might have 10G of music, but I have big ambitions so...
besides, I don´t want my PC to get slow...
But I tought you might have some recomendations,
so what are your toughts on this matter?

I like Maxtor , If money is there bump up to 512 mb while you have the case open. Tijuana Mexico, Kool, do you shop in San Diego ?

I have a Maxtor 160GB and it's louder than everything else in my case put together when it's under load.

You would be better to add RAM.

Only add another drive when your current one starts to be full. For that matter, you could always store your data to CD or DVD.

Thanks ¨Peat Moss¨,
I got the same advice a few minutes ago, from a
a friend of mine who is a Computer Ingenier and
I think you´re both right...

And, yes, I do go shoping to San Diego,
is a lot cheaper,
for example, here in Tijuana, I get a 50pack of CDs at $300.00 pesos ($30 Dlls), when I could get it at WalMart for only $14.99...
That´s why I do all my electronic shopping at Frys or BestBuy.
I got my Philips DVD(DivX) at WalMart.

Hey its always easy to give advice when spending others money! But I, like VB ,think memory is probably a better option! As for Tijuana, BEUATIFUL people , but unlike San Dieago vender's, they like to haggle about purchurse's . :whistling :)

id definitly do a upgrade to 512 MB....... but if you're only gonna use it for office jobs (which i guess you prolly will since you're getting a celeron) 256 will do fine

as for a extra HDD, id just go with a bigger one, that will be cheaper/GB........ and go with Seagate like Rossco said, the other 2 big ones (Maxtor and Western Digital) are just as good, but their warranty is less, seagate gives you 5 years, the others only 3....... plus seagates are quiter

Seagate is the most liked harddrive imo. On other forums I am on they are always chosen. They are QUIET and fast, and have a 5 year warranty!
