Went to my boyfriend's father's house for the weekend for their family Christmas party. Crappy weekend all around really, the highlight being that Chris was almost arrested driving home as he was stopped for speeding (50km/hr over)and his license is under suspension, which I just found out, otherwise I'd have been driving in the first place. The worst part is that it's still plaguing me. Skipper, Chris' dad's dog, absolutely adores me and was stuck to me like glue the entire weekend, including sleeping in bed with me (actually on me, and at 150 pounds, he's not your average little dog), on Saturday night. Well Skipper has fleas. I'm literally covered in flea bites and they're still itchy. I've not slept properly in 3 nights now because of it.

I just hope they didn't hitch a ride home in clothing or something because I'll freak if the cats get fleas.

It might be wise to give the cat a dose of flea powder anyway. Chances are they did hitch home with you :(

That was a bad trip.

But they do say bad luck comes in three's.
So you should be in for some good news soon. :D

I'm in agreement with Dan, Nikki. You need to atleast powder the cat for a bit, chances are you might have brought home some eggs :(

Flea eggs can lay dorment for upto 3 years before they hatch, most powders/sparys etc you can buy off the shelf (here anyway) wont kill the eggs, I found the best thing was to vacume the cat :01:
My cat loves it  .........Of course being very careful of the tail

I checked them both over, and they don't have any fleas crawling on them, neither is scratching at all. They've both had their advantage pills (for fleas and worms) and all though - I don't know how long those last  They have to go in sometime in the new year to get fixed, I'll have to ask about it then, and give them flea baths in the meantime if I notice anything.

They'd probably enjoy the baths. The damn cats are insane. They jump in the shower with me all the time. Though if there's a puddle of water on the floor, they'll avoid it like the plague. Morons.

Tigger's already fallen in the toilet more than once. Damn kids leave the seat up. I've had to start closing the bathroom door to keep them out, I just replaced the shower curtain (again) because of the gaping holes they left by climbing it.

I have two that run and two that want to ride it.

I have the coolest cats.

Who else plays "laser-cat"?

You wanna talk hilarious; I lasered my kid's girlfriend's Pomeranian on a linoleum floor-just about pissed myself laughing.

I play laser cats with mine - very entertaining...I've even played with my parent's dogs (shih tzus) and they go even more nuts for that red light - will chase it down the hall and crash into the wall when they get there. too funny!! :D :D

Holy cow, Vidcc, you posted a Wacky Package!

http://www.links.net/vita/gx/notes/pix/wacky-kentucky.md.jpeg

What a blast from the past. My parents still have my old sticker book full of them.

Sorry your weekend sucked Nikki, remember what I said about not being able to choose your relatives. Feck 'em.

Get a pyrethrin powder and dust your cat and its bedding. This chemical halts the developing baby fleas so that they never mature to become adult ones.

Worked with me bunnies.
