I agree, the second would be more effective. A hammer would stun after the first few blows.

Lying in the debris of one's own shattered limbs whilst someone toys with a hammer (perhaps gently tapping a broken bone or two) would be worse.

I used to have a Riley Elf (version of the mini) and they were surprisingly solid little things. The new mini looks much heavier though
