Unemployment and associated benefits..

They used to be paid via a Giro Cheque (one that could be cashed at the Post Office), and we still call 'em Giro's, even though they arent paid that way anymore...

It's the money that good honest tax payers give to wastrels, in order to let them buy drink, drugs and the services of prostitutes. It has been known (or at least claimed) that they also buy food and soap. However there is little actual evidence of this.
