Spelt is wheat but I don't pronounce things the way they are written. I pronounce them as I think appropriate. If people pronounce things the same as they were written then we'd all sound like those computerised voice things you hear on t'interweb.

With regards the words I think it would sound more Scottish if you tried pronouncing them hot and cock (as we enunciate the vowel sounds :) ). The others just end up sounding like something from Eastenders when I try them.
