not allowed to open it.

Try installing a program called aida32 and click the hard drive tab...it should show the brand and model of teh hard drive. :)

What computer is it installed in?

Where did you get the info you posted?

Look in: Start>control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management. You can see the drive size there.

I STOLE IT FROM SCHOOL AND HAVE IT AT HOME!

it is not installed in a computer currently and the one it was in was donated.

i need help finding the manufactuer to see if their site would say what it is or something

Ok. It's not in a PC? Then tell us everything written on it.

Btw. To steal from school is wrong. Do you know how little budget they have for these things?

tesco

nvm sorry.
You can only find the model/manufacturer of the drive if it's written on the drive somewhere OR if it's in a computer. ;)
You could also look for any serial numbers or something like that to search google for.

What's the purpose in having a drive if you aren't allowed to install it?

Virtualbody1234

You need to either use aida32 as i said
-or-
right click my computer>manage>device manager>look for the hard drive in the list and it will ahve teh manufacturer's name next to it (usually).
Ross. Reread the thread. It's not installed in a PC.

I can't be sure but it seems to be an older Maxtor or Quantum 40 GB. Maybe from when Maxtor bought out Quantum. Anyway it's a low performance 2 MB cache 5400 RPM drive.

How about you return the hard drive to the school. It would much better serve the students than to sit in your closet because you don't have permission to install it. Don't you think?

i fried my friends mobo and he told his parents and they told mine...

that only happened once but i may get grounded if my grandma sees me open my computer.

imma go to my friends house (not the one whose mobo i fried) and try out the hard drive later.

i had to stop my computer selling business last month because my friend moved to sacramento and he waws the one who delivered the computers for me.

i still fix computers, just not in my house

it got expensive because i had to follow stupid ass copyright laws...

stupid Micro$oft

i later ended up using the same key repeatedly because it became expensive to always buy a new copy of windows.

aite then

peace

VB's idea makes sense...take it back to teh school...or give it to a friend.
Of course you could always just wait until some time when youre parents+grandma are out of teh house and you know they wont be back for a while so you could isntall the drive. ;)

I'll bet your customers are going to be thrilled to death when they get booted from Windows Update because of their pirated license key.

Oh yes, indeed.

Edit : Hmmmm lots of people need new keys ! Lets see, I can chargre $ 20.00
each. Now thats unethical , I'll just share on here . No wonder I'll die broke , but with a smile .
