I have encountered a program on my comp that I cannot remove. First I tried to delete it through safe mode. It tells me that it cannot delete because it is being used by another program. So I tried deleteing it through the c: prompt by a method that someone had mentioned in this forum. It ells me that it cannot find the file in question when plainly you can see it. The file name is as follows. [TMD] (Real) Lilo and Stitch (2of2) Message For Trade.avi . I typed it exactly as it reads but it is not recognized. When you try to access this file in my shared file it sends my explorer usage to 99%. I have to shut down explorer and reexecute in order for the usage to go back to normal. How do I get rid of this program. PLease Help me.

i had this problem on a friends computer (it was porn :) ) anyways i ended up having to make a boot disk and go to DOS and delete from there cause safe mode wasn’t enough.

sounds like your using win xp?
and have you tried just using the the first 6 characters (dos limits you to 8 characters) of the filename followed by a ~1. so in your case
del [TMD] ~1.avi ( there is a space between ] & the ~)
worth a try but i thought you would have been able to type the full file name

i hope some of that makes sese cause it doesnt feel like it did
