I'm running Ad-aware, Webroot Spy Sweeper, Zonelabs Pro Firewall, Norton Anti Virus - All with the latest Definitions. (Windows is also fully upto date)

Spyware is slowing my internet speed down no end. Last night i got rid of what i think is all of it, - only 9 TCP connections running and it was supa. Now today, theres around 50. My net is once again crap!!!

How can i stop spyware getting into my pc and slowing my net down?

Thanks in advance.

Chewie

Don't understand mate??

Just counted, i now have 103 TCP connections, i should only have approx 10 according to Blueyonder.

On Zonearm it has "111 programs secured for internet access" is this normal???

i would get rid of google toolbar, it's now operates like ezula spyware, and may be causing some of your problems

and that Streamload stuff looks like it might be something, if you didn't install it or need it.

and it looks like Pinnacle set up a server on your PC, is that anything you use?

I would also check your host file to make sure no *unnecessary lines* were added.

C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ect\ in your case.

Post ur host log here if you got questions about anything.

Hello!

Google Toolbar is not spyware! You set the degree of privacy in Googles Toolbar preferences/options. Pagerank option should be disabled for privacy!.

Google Toolbar is great!

i'm not talking about pagerank, im talking about ezula/smart tags like features (the first spyware kazaa ever used), not only does it steal revenue from webmasters, but it can slow surfing.
