I've never seen this posted ebfore, and couldnt find anything searching.

I need a program that will make a daily backup of a folder on my hard drive (my website) and just copy it to another drive/partition.

Anything? the windows thing will only do a one time backup job. and it's slow as hell too.

i always used the bounceback express
that came bundled with with my seagate external HDD
never had it muff a backup, faster than windows too
thing is its shareware
i dont know about the version that came with my drive though...
dont know if i've ever left it installed for more than a month :P

theres loads of free stuff here:
http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/system/fwbackup.html
but i never tried any of em

-edit-
there is one that i was meaning to try...
but dont think its there on snapfiles
cant remember if it was freeware or a cracked shareware...
hell i cant even remember the name
it looked promising though :P
i have it somewhere, lemme find it, and i'll post wtf it was and some info

-edit again-
nvm, cant find it, probably on that dvd that got fkd up

lol, well that's ok thanks.

I'm using that SyncBack program that was on the site you posted. It seems to do what I want, except that I would like it to create a new folder called whatever the date is when it does a backup so that it wont overwrite the old backup everytime.

nova backup, but its not free,
(anywhere from 50-150 bucks, depending on the version)
and looks a bit much for what you need it for
plus i never even got to try it out...
record now/HP made sure of that

Why don’t you consider online backups? I think online backup is the right solution to keep your data securely offsite. Having your backup data in the same HDD is a risk against disasters.

We use this online backup (http://www.ibackup.com) service, there are options to schedule automatic backups every day/ week/ month or however you require it to do. All you need to do is select the files, save it as a backup set and schedule it for regular backups.

two reasons why I wouldn't:

1. security/privacy (why put my personal files in someone else's hands?)
2. bandwidth (I have plenty, but why waste it on something I can do locally?)

HDDs aren't very expensive these days (unless you're an SCSI fan)
too cheap & easy to set up some kind of redundancy locally to justify the risks of online storage IMO
