.avi can't be used with Shrink and Decrypter.

Do you want to watch the movie on your DVD player? then you need to convert the file to mpeg (SVCD/KVCD)

VSO DivX to DVD is a very fast program for AVI to DVD files. IT is much faster than WIN AVI, and VSO is free, you've got to crack WIN AVI, I found out the hard way, Resident Evil 2 with "YOU CAN BUY WIN AVI FOR BLAH BLAH BLAh.." stamped across the screen then entire movie..

WIN AVI, tends to Bog down right in the middle of the converting. And I have a P4 3Ghz. Go figure. With VSO I can AVI to DVD in an hour or less.

Hmm, I've been using WinAvi(full verson) for about six months now. It will convert a 700mb .avi file into DVD format in about 30-40 minutes(sometimes less). And I'm running an Athlon XP 2500+ with a Barton core and 768MB of memory.

I don't know what you're doing wrong.

nero vision express is good for burning a bunch of short videos or to save time burning a somewhat long video. It's a quick method with a cheap menu, but atleast it's quick.
