MM2 is ok for creating files for use in windows media player and things but not for creating dvd's and stuff, it depends how far and how complicated you want to make your video editing, I use pinnacle studio 9 for my home movie stuff which has quite a lot of effects and transitions and more stuff than I need really but if your just wanting to add menus and things like chapters and create dvd's from avi files nero's movie maker works fine.
If you want the dogs bollox and loads of features that you won't use Canopus is the market leader in this game.
