what do you guys think of Symantec anti virus?

Hi,

I tried Panda anti virus for awhile, but the software won’t update after sometime because it would say wrong username and password.

Anyhow now I have installed Symantec Antivirus (latest version), just wondering what you guys think of this software? Is this software any good? Never tried this software before, so would appreciate any comments on it.

Symantech corp is good.

Norton antivirus sucks baws.

If it's Norton you've got, don't switch to kaspersky, for instance.

'cos even after uninstalling Norton it'll still crash your OS if you install KAV.
Norton digs in like the worst possible spyware I've ever seen.

Even after a complete uninstall there may still be a process running, no matter how long it was since you uninstalled it, seen it myself. Very frustrating.

And the protected wastebin sucks.


Either AV will do the job tho', regarding detection-rate.

Its the one I use . Corp I mean . Pretty fast, seems to use less resources too.

One thing that bothered me tho was the settings. I found it does take a little tweaking , compared to Norton's suite . Example was "stop after scan " that should be a given ,no? :lol:

who could bitch about free updates for life? :P
plus...i mean it is a symantec app...one of the top few in detection
and i always liked their web site
they just suck ass when you have to go through automated support :sick:

I use it also, and I think its great. It uses less resources, and you get free updates forever. :D

isnt that only with NSW or NIS?
cuz i had used NAV 03 & 04, never had a protected trash bin
wasnt until i had installed NSW once for shits & giggles,
then i ran into the...
"you cant fuck with the recycle bin because we cawkjacked it"
