Never really liked the first three. However, I like them more than anything on UKLiving.

Why isn't that an option.

Not bothered watching whatever the second new one is called. I can't really remember watching the first either but I have it on good authority that I declared it shit on several occasions.

Star Trek > Star Wars.

Star Trek > Star Wars.

I've always preferred Star Wars to Star Trek but like them both. Star Wars gets the nod mainly for Han Solo's uber-coolness, Star Trek never had a character like him.

Anyhow MST3k is the greatest sci-fi show of all time.

good.....good :shifty:

you won't regret it, unless your computer explodes taking out everyone and everything you love, including your porn - but in that unlikely event, you'll still get to witness firefly before hand, which rawks more than star wars

Anyhow MST3k is the greatest sci-fi show of all time not including firefly .

Anyhow MST3k is the greatest sci-fi show of all time.Tom Paris is the nearest, I guess. Not such a good actor which probably ruins it a bit - and the Federation directives often dampens down any sustained kewlness. However, the ST women definitely pwn the SW women. I don't only mean aesthetically, either.

I have loads of MST3K downloaded from MySpleen but still haven't watched any :(

Let us know which ones you have and I'll reccomend the best one to start with.

I made it my mission to get every episode when I first got t'internet, am about 50 off from the 200ish total. Though I did lose a few last hardrive fcuk-up. :(

No...

although the newer ones are different, they are nice to actually see how the first episodes (IV - VI ) evolved. The only drawback I see is that now we need to have someone re-make the first 3 because the special effects are much better now than what they were then

also, you should have waited until episode III came out to do this poll

The three original ones indeed kick ass. The new ones don't seem to fit in very well.

There is no movie that even compares to Star Wars.

Star Wars broke new ground in original story, music, sound effects, special effects, characters, etc.

Nothing in any way can compare and it is futile to say so.

To this day the original trilogies hold up to the test of time.

Star Trek is too "episodic" having different writers (plus it was a TV show). Most of the movies sucked in comparison.

....Babylon 5 kicked Star Trek's ass easily.

Star Wars took us to a different world. Star Trek took us to the future....which in itself is not very original.

I totally agree.

The originals set the bar too high.

This last one looks excellent though.

It looks like in one scene the Palpatine takes on 5 Jedi in a rage.

yes it is. i've tried several times, sometimes out of boredom, sometimes with starwars nerds and i just cannot give a shit. it's just so damn boring. the only sci-fi i'd rather watch than shoot myself is farscape :ermm: . i tried star-trek, babylon 5 and that one where they jump through the big ring and couldn't care even when i tried my hardest

edit: all you who say starwars 1,2,3 are good stop lying to yourselves. you just fell for the hype and now can't admit they suck ass.

When you watch star wars as a kid, you think luke skywalker is the best.

When you watch it as a teenager, you think han solo is the best.

When you watch it as an adult, you think darth vader is the best.

This is why star wars is the greatest film ever!
