"Youth" by Joseph Conrad. I love Conrad even more in middle age than when I was younger. Not sure why I have such a hard time finding other fans who aren't English professors. "Youth" would be a good starting point for anyone who hasn't read him yet.

Finished World War Z by Max Brooks recently, really enjoyed it. First time I've read a collection of stories as presented in the book.
