The smiley is king. Bow to the king.
Back before 8 ect treatments, 3 years of group psychotherapy, countless antidepressant combinations, and finally (the only thing that has worked) intensive meditation, I would nurse my depression by listening to:
Threapy? "Troublegum" which is intense 3 piece rock band.
Nirvanna (of course) "Nevermind" and "In Utero" and the somewhat hidden song on the beavis and butthead movie soundtrack "I hate myself and I want to die" which is definitely worth unearthing, and the song "verse chours verse" which was on some other complition. They are probably in the boxed set that was released a while back.
Matthew Sweet "Altered Beast", "100% fun", and "Superdeformed" ep
Drown "Hold onto the Hollow" Produced by Dave "rave" Oglivie of Skinny Puppy fame.
The Sisters of Mercy "Black Planet", "Floodland", and "Vision Thing"
The Cure "Disintegration", "Bloodflower", and "Pornography"
Bill Hicks (who was the comedian pictured in the Tool anemia cd booklet) "Relentless" "Arizonia Bay" "Rant in e Minor" and "Dangerous" these are comedy recordings by the by.
Boo Radleys "Giant Steps"
GodFlesh "Songs of Love and Hate"
Danzig "Danzig 4"
Depeche Mode "Songs of Faith and Devotion"
Everything by Skinny Puppy
Everything by Ministry up untill 1999
Pink Floyd "The Wall" and "The Division Bell"
Cop Shoot Cop "Release"
Nick Cave "Murder Ballads" and "Let Love In"
Lenard Cohen "The Future".
I could go on. If you have trouble finding these things, I could sent you some. not all of course, but whatever I have laying around on my hard drive.
Peace. :book:
