Those are some truly talented women.

Floor Jansen [After Forever], Skin, Sarah Mclachlan, Heather Nova, Tori Amos, Paula Cole, Tarja Turunen [Nightwish], Anneke van Giersbergen [The Gathering], Kate Bush, Dolly Parton etc etc............
Forgot my favorite...her voice haunts me! Margo Timmins, Cowboy Junkies.
Check out the Trinity Sessions...single mike recording session. Lou Reed (no less) said Margo did the best version of "Sweet Jane" he has ever heard. Check'em out.

I like these Women vocalists a lot. They are, no particular order:
P J Harvey (Definate marriage material!!)
Aretha Franklin (What a voice)
Carol King
Margo Timmins (Blue Moon Revisited)
Alison Goldfrapp
Patti Labelle
Mary J Blige
Aimee Mann
Sade
I could go on for ages, every time I think of someone good three more pop into my head. Argh!!!!
the chick from evanescence is the bomb.
Sharleen Spiteri of Texas (can't believe nobody has nominated her :o )
Lisa Stansfield
P J Harvey
Sheryl Crow
B)
michelle branche :D
Nina Simone.
Kate Bush.
Suzanne Vega.
Martha Wainwright.
Michelle Branch
Janis Joplin
Eva Cassidy
Sarah McLaughlan
and yeah there's a fair few more...
Have to agree with those who mentiones Sinaed O Connor, shame she's quit music for good :o
Nobody's mentioned Suzi Quattro yet!
Totally agree. She has a fantastic voice. Really powerful.Quote:

heh i dunno why :D :D but no one mentioned these people who have bad ass voices (despite their public personality)
Christina aguilera (2nd album, first one was garbage)
Mariah Carey
also...
lauren hill
pink
mya
aalyiah
alisha keys
the last chick to get in destinys child
kelly clarkson ( dood you gotta admit... shes got a strong set of pipes (although I only like her because she sings alot like christina aguilera)
I determine these picks by the ability to watch their musi videos with no picture, for pretty much all the the ladies on my list when I see their videos to their songs I have a sudden urge to turn the picture off and just leave the sound on ... videos dont do justice tho their voice
where as on the other hand you have other "vocalist" who's videos you feel like muting and just watching the picture = Britney Spears, jessica simpson, the lead singer in destiny's child ... ect...
lauryn hill, aretha franklin, beyonce knowles, christina aguilera ( the last two vocalist have a very beautiful voice..but i don't like them not a bit..i think they're fake...my oppinion though..)
bye
:D :D madonna (music, ray of light) :D :D
:D :D janet jackson (velvet rope) :D :D
 beyonce knowles  ... not one of my favs
I agree with you on christina if I only had her music (2nd album only) and never saw or heard of her... I wouldnt be missing much
JOAN JETT
Really Powerful voice for such a small lady B)Quote:

Enya - Haunting my memories all day
Norah Jones.
Enya
Astrid van der Veen - on the Ambeon album she makes my knees weak...
I also like Belinda Carlise, Charlotte Church and many other female vocalists
:D Bump....
