The .iso version should be bootable if you burn it directly from the image file. (Don't extract the .iso)

Some BIOS require you to press the [del] key to enter the BIOS. The info should be in the motherboard manual but if you really can't get into your BIOS we can help you further. We would need the motherboard model or the exact compaq model.
