Who said AVG wasn't preferred? Theres plenty of threads here in Softwareworld recommending it.
It's just not a very good av IMO.
what happen to your AV, was that you :D
Imo the best free AV is Avast! not AVG. But for the masses I install AVG on their computers because AVG is easier to use.
i never really like AVG.. i have nothing against it, i just didn't prefer it. I am currently using kaspersky and its really good B)
I like that av but find it veyr ugly so i use nod32 which does the job as well or better and looks better. ;) also low on ram usage, using about 9,500kb total of all of it's peices (that i see in task manager, there could be more).
do you not have to reinstall NOD32 ever month though? due to some serial issue? :unsure:Quote:

@TheRealDave I'm also using KAV5. But for free AV's on clients computers I install AVG. Unless they're knowledgable then it's Avast! all the way.
I've been using AVG Free Version for about 6 months. I haven't had any viruses or Trojans. I do scan with the online scanners once in a while and I also run Trojan Hunter. AVG updates quite regularly too!
