most movie/ tv episodes i download, when i come to watch them turn out to be just a load of colour square images made from the video file. The sound is fine. Can anyone help me?

did you try Videolan?
What codecs do you have installed?
Are the files bin`s and cue`s? If yes use VideoLan. Thats what i use for em.
