As the title says I would like to know how to change the keyboard language at startup.
A friend has a PC with XP in English with multiple users who need to enter a password to login.
He has a German keyboard and this is configured as the only keyboard language.
When someone tries to login it uses the US English keyboard instead of the German.
I don't know how to fix this as I thought that having 1 keyboard "installed"would be the keyboard by default even at the login screen.
I've searched with google and cannot find how to fix this or if it's just a bug in XP.

hmm...i dunno much bout keyboard language settings, but i do know this
go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options
then, at the top, select the "Languages" tab, click on "Details..."
it should show ur default input language and installed services, i believe u can start experimenting from there
btw, right at the bottom of it, there's a button called "Key Settings...". that's also a place worth trying

ps: lemme know of the progress, i would like to learn too :)

I had already tried what you had said but as I explained in my first post it made no difference.
The only thing I haven't tried was the "key settings" as it's greyed out.
There must be a fix for this. I remember reading ages ago about a registry fix.
Anyone heard of this?
