Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Good list of good trackers I suppose, but have only 5 of them as I don't have a big interest in music and HD trackers
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011

You could have at least posted the list here so that it's a little less obvious.

I have accounts on exactly zero of the listed trackers. Was on a couple of them, but inactivity, etc.

Snap! 'cept I was only on one of them.

Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Knew from the get go that it wouldn't have been a very interesting read considering the old lame topic, but it sure as hell would been less painful to go through, had the author studied english in junior high.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
I'm on 6 of them without even trying to collect any of them. I'm not interested in HD although I do like proper encodes. I like dubstep, but really that's how far the DnB genre goes for me. And the last one had Serb on staff at least at one time, so I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
For ease of discussion/derision, I present to you all a summary: according to "Bathory" of "p2pgazette" a blog which has been running for nearly 6 weeks, the trackers most people wanted to get in to in 2011 were
#1. HDBits.org
#2. FtN
#3. GFT
#4. SCC
#5. CHDBits
#6. TorrentLeech
#7. FSC
#8. TranceTraffic
#9. Pedro's BT Music
#10. DB9
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Wow,I have none of them. :-D

So the average bt user is primarily interested in exclusivity,Scene,HD and club music?I find that truly hard to believe.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Only reason I have any of these is that they were once open signups.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
There are only 3-4 that you should look for if you seek content based trackers others are just hyped ones and you will eventually let your account die once you will be in there.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
GFT? I rarely see this tracker requested

The monkey in the article can hardly be accountable for shit.
Chances are the real list is something like HDBits FTN FSC Exigo iTS ... you see the pattern.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
DB9 shouldn't be on there.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
By 'most' people, you actually just mean people that post requests, apply for giveaways, and trade/sell invites right? Because I'm am certain the vast majority of the global BitTorrent community haven't even heard of any of the trackers on this list.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Who are you talking to? The guy who actually made the list isn't on this site and never explained his methodology. Perhaps its really just the list of trackers that he most wanted in 2011.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
I'm surprised people still bother requesting FSC

I would probably place that one in top 5... even if it's not as requested on private forums and such it is one of the most requested on public forums, especially forums that have torrenting as their main category.

Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
i have 7 of the tracker on the list and i didnt even know it is most wanted tracker :p

Didn't they have signups via IRC, making it easy to join without knowing anyone with an invite? That's what username- may be referring to.

I was mostly thinking it's like asking for an IPT account, but yes. in addition they have open sign ups via IRC. TL is up there with the easy trackers to join. TL invites are easy to come by. I assumed the list would be filled with a "list of hard to get" trackers.

Where is uk-two ? It's missing from the list!

It really bothers you so much?
Then why don't you make your own list, you know. Stick it to the wall with all the logos and names flashing. I used to put on B.B. King's posters upon my wall but times are changing, huh.

Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
How the list should look, in a sensible world...
1. IPT
2. PtP
3. What.CD
4. Waffles
5. TVTorrents.org
6. Demonoid
7. eBooks-Shares.org
8. BlackCats
9. Asiatorrents.com
10. BitSpyder.net/BitMe.org
Honorable mentions:
*Deli.sh
*iTS (for involved, active movie lovers only)
*CartoonChaos
*Karagara.net (for very hard-to-find, obscure, and niche movies)
There are a few niche-related sites involving music that belong here. Also, some HD movie-based sites that I am not interested in.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
In my sensible world it would be
1. Waffles
2. x264
3. theVault
4. thePlace
5. SDBits
6. tehConnection
7. Pedro's
8. BTN
9. TranceTraffic
10. TorrentLeech
Honorable mentions:
Karagarga
TVT.com is great but has no WEB-DL
Demonoid for obvious reasons
I can't comment on IPT since I'm not a member, but I would think TL has at least most of what is on there.
What and PTP suck because they don't allow Azureus/Vuze
Almost all E-Learning material can be found through Google, so I don't really see the need for any general E-Learning trackers.

You cannot be more wrong, especially after listing TheVault and ThePlace in your list. What category do you list those two trackers in, if not e-learning?
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
theVault and thePlace are absolutely not general E-Learning trackers. There is lots of business/mind/body material there that can't be found anywhere else. Also if it wasn't for their brilliant forums which compliment the sites so well, I wouldn't have listed them at all.
I was a member of BitMe and suddenly found I had no use for it. Started logging in just to keep the site alive, then eventually forgot that too and was deleted.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Is there some thing exclusive to e learning tracker? I guess most can be found on warezbb

Well, BitMe recycles a lot of other material. Between edu lectures just thrown into a torrent, material pawned off other sites etc. there's hardly anything unique that makes it there.
However, it's a good foot-in-the-door for people to get started on e-learning. Dismissing it entirely would be akin to saying undergraduate school is useless and we should all just starting on doctorates out of the womb.

TheVault and GFXnews strike me instantly as irreplaceable exclusive material providers.

I never said dismiss them. I said most if not all torrents on those sites can be found through Google. I never used E-Learning much, but when I was a member on BitMe, 90% of the time when I wanted to find something specific, I didn't find it there. Around half of the time I found what I was looking elsewhere through Google. The other half I didn't find it at all.
And yes, GFXnews was an awesome site as well, but I didn't use their resources enough and was eventually deleted there. I didn't list any game trackers either as games don't really interest me. I'm sure if I was interested in magic, then some magic tracker would be on there as well. Same with other niche sites that simply don't interest me. Same with HD sites where I simple don't download enough to justify finding an invite.
Very few top 10 lists will be the same... except maybe from the scene fanboys.
-
Re: The Top 10 Most Wanted Trackers 2011
Ya I don't know where he is getting GFT as number 3....
Most invite beggars go straight for the gold (in their eyes FTN).
Personally GFT is my most unused site that I am "active" at.
The only thing seeded on their pretty much is odd porn collections, which I don't normally fancy.
Actually that has seemed to change..

That one should be on my list, but I overlooked it mainly because it is so niche focused, and only of interest to a small percentage of the community. It is, however, an amazing resource for those who are interested in its offerings.
