voltage threshold warning
i've just built my first system using an MSI k9vgm-v mainboard which is up and running fine, but upon installing the pc alert software it is informing me that the +5v is at 6.23 and is flashing and beeping like crazy. have i hooked something up wrong and can i fix the problem? any help much apreciated.:)
Re: voltage threshold warning
Disable "PC Alert" and install Everest Home Edition.
See if it also shows a high +5v reading.
If so, break out the multimeter and physically measure the voltage from +5v (it's the red wire in a Molex connector).
If it actually IS outputting over 6v, return the PSU and get a different model.
Re: voltage threshold warning
hey I took your advice and installed everest and it is reading around 5.51 or so now, is this o.k? thanks very much for the help!
Re: voltage threshold warning
5.5v still seems high.
Can you test it with a multimeter?
