Noob Question about Preparing/Creating NZB

So, this question may seem, and may actually be, noobish but I'm hoping that you'll forgive me because it pertains to giving back to the community.

I have several games and movies that I'd like to prepare and then create nzb files for on my mac but don't know how to do so. I looked around but couldn't find what I needed to get me started. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction or assist me?
