Great movie, great writer, a very sad day. I for one will be getting wasted.
I read all his books waaaaay back in the '70s; the Hell's Angels books, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail (the McGovern Presidential campaign).
The guy was gonzo, no doubt about that.
R.I.P., HST (And I don't mean Harry S Truman).
You will be missed... :(
I never got wasted... My friends drank all my tequila the bastards.
Ah-mushrooms, then? :)Quote:

I am a bit astounded, Renfield, that we have had this thread to ourselves.
Surely the good Doctor hadn't faded entirely from the great big radar screen?
Sorry I'm late... damn, it's quiet in here.
Just found this report via Google news.
Thompson's Ashes May Be Shot From Cannon
It would seem the erstwhile writer has planned to go out with a bang.
It seems he has. Once I started asking around, I realized how very few people know he even existed. I mention the movie and I usually get an "oh, that guy" It's a shame.Quote:
