couple quickies for you tech people....
hey all,
am finding that while burning discs with progs running in background comp slows down heaps... have got a p4 celeron 2.8...will i notice a significant improvement if i go to a p4 3 or 3.2 with HT...? also, i have 1gig of DDR but half of it is 2700 and the other 3200 (i think)... is it worth it to get all 3200 or is it not that much different...?
cheers,
dave.
Re: couple quickies for you tech people....
My first burner, I learned not to be running anything else in the back ground. I used to use a program called enditall. :)
Re: couple quickies for you tech people....
make sure your hard-drive that's being burnt from and your burner are on different cables.
i think that may help... :ermm:
Re: couple quickies for you tech people....
its pointless having 2 different speeds of ram, as both will run at the slowest speed.
Run a spyware/adware program.
Look at process manager, see if any process is hogging all your resources.
And its recommended you dont run any programs while burning discs
Re: couple quickies for you tech people....
ok, all good advice thanks...what about the cpu though?...would HT make a significant difference to say having azureus, explorer, etc running at same time?
Re: couple quickies for you tech people....
Software has to be written specifically taking advantage of HT(Hyper Threading).
Read more about it here...
