Re: Afro
Yeah have to concur there, awesome dexterity :01:
An inspiration to any guitarist but as many session guitarists he's another unsung hero.
It's one thing to see a star on stage such as slash or clapton, but when you get someone you know personally of equal talent to guitar hero's , well I think thats more of something to aspire to. Proof that ordinary people can work magic on a lump of wood and make it sing, hum, whistle the soft notes or make it scream and take notes soaring thru stratospheric pitches :)
Jonno

Re: Afro
You got a torrent? :)
EDIT:
This isn't really good because of the beerplugs you're wearing is it
I remember the last "beautifull" women I was with when wearing my beer bottle glasses
;)

Re: Afro
Thanks for the kind words. They made me do something else now...
:D
So, I got this video flick, it was ripped from VHS and done with
Windows Movie Maker :slap:
and the result audio-video was wayyy off sync.
The only way for me to "fix it" since it was wmv-asf-bs was to
install Movie Maker  and import the file twice using the other file as audio
and slide the audio to correct place.
(had to mute the original audio first)
Well, it is not exactly 100% insync but I got tired of the crap and
its close enough for me to watch. Few milliseconds off i guess.
Other software simply refused to work with it because of Micro$oft licence issues.
One more reason to stay away from the eevil formats...
I'll find a place to host it and post it in here soon.
I dont want to do the torrent, I think its easier to do httpdl in rapidshare,
then its easy for anyone to just download.
:)
Stay tuned for few more minutes...

Re: Afro
Haha, :)
I did post about it, you just missed it.
:D
Anyhoo, the file is uploading atm....
-
Re: Afro
Please, tell me it's not "Sweet child of mine" you're playing on this here vid.
Cos Jonno ruined it for me.
How big a file is it?
-
Re: Afro
Ok boys and gals, here somes...
Afronaut live 2002 in Norway!
more mirriors:
Yousendit,
Qfile
and 99% afronaut page (Thank You)
Also, check this thread in Music section for more Afronaut-stuff.
I got stuff linke in me signature too.
http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/2...onstage8io.jpg
The file is zipped, about 20MB download. (Afronaut.zip (20485043 Bytes) )
The Medley includes:
Part 1: From Edward Griegs classical piece Mountain King in english is think, or In the Lair of Mountain King or somesuch, in Norwegian its called Dovregubbens Hal and in Finnish its Vuorenkuninkaan Salissa.
From the masterpiece Peer Gynt Suite No. One.
Part 2: A piece of Stratovarious, a Finnish Power-Metal band, from the song Mother Gaia
Part 3: The last piece is sort of impro-ex-tempore guitar-jerk-off based on a piece of Tomaso Albinoni - Agagio in G-Minor.
Nothing really fancy here to see thought, just a dude on the stage playing guitar.
Some mistakes which are unavoidable given the amount of beer consumed that night,
but I managed to make a decent edit to publish this on the net.
;)
Sit back and enjoy. (with a beer if possible)
:D
Besides, if Jonno could do it, I gotta do it too. :D
Its all Jonnos fault then...

Re: Afro
Instruction to use Rapidshare?
Click the picture.
Choose the method of download: FREE
Wait some seconds and the download should be available.
There's actually a way to circumvent that wait and limit of downloads
in rapidshare, but that's a totally different story..
:D
And, please feel free to share etc. the file.
:)

Re: Afro
I dont like Sweet Child of mine that much,
I just cant stand Axel Pose vocals.
Guitarworks on that song is really cool but as soon as the Pose opens the mouth...

Re: Afro (now with teh video)
The party was in some little town, nothing big
I guess few hundred ppl (sold-out), few tons of beer hehe...
If I remember right there was like 14 bands/ playing that day,
I was ON around 10 or 11 PM. and the party was over about 2 or 3 AM.
The free beer, women, ah, it's good to be a player...

Very nicely done, Afro-Slinger; In The Hall of The Mountain King shall forever your carry your imprimatur, at least for me.
The rest was beautifully rendered and very stylish.
My archive has acquired a jewel today; thanks. :)
Thank you.
:)
I made another pack which can be viewed in here, in Music section.
The new pack has a mp3 of the Mountain King song, much better on the audio
quality than the live version.
Plus, the pack has punch of other mp3's and videos..
:D

Re: Afro (now with teh video)
Thought it was rather cool also. Im wondering if youve heard Savatage version of Hall Of The Mountain King along with the previous tarck Prelude To Madness. If not let me know...
-
Re: Afro (now with teh video)
afro could you manage to play "f" "s" "t" "rewlz" on your guitar?
mp3 or avi would be groovy
-
Re: Afro (now with teh video)
Rapidshare won't work, but yousendit does - just watched it, Nice :D
-
Re: Afro (now with teh video)
Was the wig so that the people from the DSS wouldn't recognise you :ermm:
Great stuff. I normally think guitar solos are boring - but that wasn't.
-
Re: Afro (now with teh video)
Lets see, im going to try to answer these as well as i can (in random order):
Quote:
"f" "s" "t" "rewlz"
You have reference or you want me to "come up with shit"?
Any ideas for me to work on?
And no, t'wast in Rockefeller, party was in much smaller town
in westcoast of Norway.
Quote:
Savatage version of Hall Of The Mountain King along with the previous tarck Prelude To Madness
I'll get back on you about that on MSN...
;)
Quote:

Yeah, a friend of mine bought it for me too,
in the Sweden-Norway border some silly little tourist-trap.
We was coming from Finland with my car, t'was a hellish summer-vacation,
the hangovers...
I bought that wig in some festivals when i was very drunk,
its hella-cool-hat. Rather hot to wear on summertime but wth...
I had it on because everyone else was taking the stuff too seriously imo,
that did have the chillout effect i wanted.
:D
Quote:

Good if you liked it.
:)
Ppl on the concert was from 18 to one-leg-in-grave age so i had to
try to come up with something a little different from VanhalenMalmsteenVai
kinda thing.
Well, the vid still has that but its hard to take it so seriously, what with the wig and all...
:D

Re: Afro (now with teh video)
