I've tried googling this but dont understand wtf they are going on about.
I just got an e-mail im mime format and internet expolorer 6 wont let me open it up.
Is there anything i can do/get to let me open it up?

you should be using a mail client to open emails and not internet explorer. The way I look at it, if I get an email that looks wierd or suspicios I just delete it to make sure I do not get infected with a virus.
