What language is it, my guess is Russian but I know feck all about languages.

The problem is that if someone wrote it out phonetically, like, it might not match any standard I know.
And yet another problem is that stuff like Bosnian and Russian are like different dialects of the same thing, in some respects.
My friend had something about his girlfriend in Bosnian on msn, it said something about his "darling", only I thought it said "loves".
Having a look through my russian textbook, but it uses cyrrylic letters, which means a bit of thinking since it has been quite a while.
Zhenya is a name, I think.

The only context I have is that it's his birthday and that it was from his Mother in Law. Please don't waste loads of time on this, I just thought you might know given your cunning linguistic skills.
Asking a Bosnian friend now, he hasn't got anymore of a clue than I.
He knows some russian too, his dad even more, and he thought it might be that.
