is there a prog. out there that emulates a blank cd so that instead of burning an .iso image to a physical blank cd-r, mabey you can trick it to burn to your hard drive nstead? I hope this question makes sense, i'm just tring to save cds...

Mount the image file to a virtual drive with daemon tools.
Yep, the process is called 'mounting'. Apps that do this are:
Alcohol120% http://www.alcohol-software.com/
Deamon Tools http://www.daemon-tools.cc/portal/portal.php
There are others but these are the best/most used.
I use CloneCD

Get yourself Alcohol 120%, it can make, burn, and mount (emulate) CD images. :)Quote:

If I'm not mistaken, Nero still has one as well. The bad thing is that you HAVE to have a .nrg (for Nero) or .ccd (for CloneCD) images for mounting, whilst with Alcohol or Daemon you can mount all of them :)
clonecd can mount .iso images, which is what he asked for ;)
