Newsgroup/Usenet guide?

Heys!

I'm looking for a basic usenet/newsgroup guide that explains what you have to do - pay for usenet server provider, download nzb's from search site, manage downloads in a newsreader.... I've got a friend who is just starting out and although I can give him advice on what programs/providers to use it would be good to get something that would explain it all to him!

Thats all I can think of, with choosing a client it's really a trial and error approach you have to take as many members just recommend their personal opinions, GrabIt FTW :P

Usually most Usenet provider reviews are biased to the authors prefference but the tables are far from it.
