Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
I got some older torrents (NewCyber series) that I got from Cheggit, yet they download very very slow. Like 0,1 - 0,5kBy speeds, witch is not exactly great
The tracker is like:
And I wonder - will adding other(s) trackers there help? And witch ones I can try? :naughty:
Re: Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
in generally it should help on open trackers..
but in this case you wont have any success bc the private flag will be set(atleast i suppose so)
and if its your real announce url you might wanne change it
Re: Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
Hmmm, yes, this the the tracker my uTorrent show me in the properties for these torrents. I never trweaked with tracker(s) before, but I'm glad to hear it could help the poor DL speed in general - eg. the more trackers the better? :yup:
So, any recommendations about witch tracker(s) to add there?

Yes, why? :helpsmili
Re: Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
People can use that to download torrents as if through your account.
Re: Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
Oh, crap :)
Fixed. And the trackers recommended for the NewCyber series are...?
Re: Can adding aditional trackers help DL speed?
So, since no-one is answering, I did a small test myself. I just wasted like 10 hours downloading torrent of 2G nice 720 pix wide rip of Resident Evil Extinction. I get the torrent from some old slow site (IIRC it stole torrents from Demonoid...) and wasted because the torrent DL speed was about between 7 to 24kBy
(my connection limit is 512k)
Suxx, right? So, I gather a list of trackers and replaced the trackers into the properties to THIS huge list:
...and the download speed of this particular torrent jumped from the abovementioned 7 - 24k to very nice 130 - 205k DL speed :D
Hence yes, aditional trackers, especially in torrents where is allowed the DHT and Peer Exchange, helps greatly.
Now is there some dead trackers I shall exclude from my list, or are there more to add? :whistling
