Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
Here's a link to a site i found which helped figure out this damn problem (im on UK online)
http://www.filesharingweb.de/mediaWi...hrottling_ISPs
For p2p i used the ports which they provided (80,8080...) and i use utorrent for BT. I get full speeds on all now :D
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
Now i wondor if they monitor your dloads?
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
I guess they probably log all activity...im sure all isp's do.
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
Can't get around mine....Toucan. They throttle all traffic at peak times, not just p2p.
Don't ever consider them.
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
Do they monitor exactly what u dload? coz i dload a lot of music and movies
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
No. Only how much you download not what you download.
Re: Getting Past Bandwidth Shaping
Do they have NTL on there?

Dont worry too much as said above only the download and upload is monitored. But you ought to slow down on the dl if you use a service that throttle p2p becasue my previous provider would take my internet if i left on my connection for more than 12 hours regardless of how much i downloaded. I used to have a 512kbit connection with them so the max i could download was probably 500MB before they cut my net off.

NTL don't throttle their customers do they. As far as i know all they do is impose a certain limit on transfers according to what package you take out.:)
