Since it just came out I think this poll is appropriate.

Since it just came out I think this poll is appropriate.
i'll give it a whirl, but my graphics card isn't good enough to run the whole aero glass thing
I voted Not for a while (2months+).
But thats obviously a misprint. It should have been: Not for a while (2years+)
Why hurry?
I preffer to wait and see what its really worth, if the cracks are any good.
Guess I will install in about a year or so
Definitely not for a while.
Not until I've knocked at least a couple of hundred off ol' MBNA.
Nope, XP is working fine, so why bother.
I'm not upgrading a PC to make it capable of running a new OS, which I don't actually need.
I might steal it later tho'
Already have a PC cabable of running it, so why not?
Currently on RC1.
Would like to try just out of curiosity and know my friends will want to try the latest and greatest . ;)
I'm installing the WinBeta release on the laptop at this very moment. Whether or not I like it will determine if it goes on the other machines.
I have XP and I'm sticking with that until I see just how well Vista works out. I figure a few months.
Right now I have Vista installed on a spare hard drive. I just swap the drives back and forth when I need to. :)
I've tested it on a secondary PC, but I won't put it on my primary for a few months. Waiting for a crack, bugs, all that...
On a side note:
Is there an upgrade version floating about yet? (from XP of course)
Once I do install it on my current PC, should I use the 32 or 64 version?
Just insert your Vista DVD while in Windows:

I recommend that you stick with the 32 bit version.
Thanks. Looks to be some useful info here as well.

The above article is certainly advocating the use of x64 if you can run it. It does state that your limitations will only be in the software you use, as some have problems running on an x64 system.
Perhaps I'll do a dual-boot.
I've installed it on my main desktop and it runs Grabit and FM2007, it looks pretty and it networks to my other computers with no problems. So it can stay for now.
I doubt I will, Id rather keep my legit copy of XP media center for the time being.
I've installed Vista Ultimate... it's nice but I'll stick back to XP for now... it isn't the time yet, altough many programs are being updated with compatibility fixes for Vista, it's for RC1 or RC2, so the final leaked version it's still a no no, at least until the final Vista will be officially released.
Vista on my laptop, XP on my desktop. I only use my laptop for documents and mobile internet access so it allows me to get use to the vista feel while not pissing me off in compatibility (games, etc.)
Im afraid something will so wrong. who can I call if somthing goes wrong with a pireted copy of vista, Windows:)
You're not alone. I have too much to risk on my main PC.
I've always been worried to attempt an install of any pirated OS. The only time I've done it was on a secondary PC that I was reformatting anyways so I went ahead and tried it. Worked smooth as could be though.
I still have that PC in the closet too, I'm going to try Vista on that one first once I get around to it.
Sure, pirated OS's can be cool and cheap but don't forget that it's your OS. I'd rather have a legit copy to ensure proper installation and updates. I'll give ETH0 credit for doing a wonderful job with the monthly XP releases and the WGA cracks but again, when it comes to an OS you can't do any better than a legit copy.
Everything else though is up for free grabs :naughty:
Completely agree. Look here: http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/news-...ft-says-137919
They know...and its just gonna turn into a hassle.
i will wait for 3 month
bye
installed it 2 days ago, no problems yet :P
xp until i buy a new pc-----thats years off
already installed on my second hd, but just for "testing" purposes.
i'll make up my mind whether to use it as my primary OS after it's officialy released.
I wouldn't dare put it on my main computer. If my accounting program gets messed up in any way, I can just see myself with a gun on tax day...
In a few years, when i will buy a new pc! :P
Probably not. I'm gonna wait for them to work all the kinks out first. And knowing MS, that may be a while.
Installed the Vista shit on 3 different machines. Some bugs and absolutely NOT compatible with a bunch of drivers and programs, so now Vista is uninstalled from everything in hope of a usable Longhorn.
