It's was a forum on Something Awful. There were about 20 FTP servers setup and everyone was sharing loads of awesome music on them. It was great.
At the time, I had 56k and was able to xsfer about 400MB a day up/down. Then in late 2003 the forum was shut down at SA and moved to a new location where no doubt they are still sharing music today - probably using bittorrent.
It was NMP3s that got me into music. It was a shame that I didn't talk to the right people in time and never got in when they moved - it all happened so fast.
Like the OP, I'd also like an invite if anyone has one.
After reading Eargasm's review I would like to apply for an invite to this forum.
It seems really interesting :)
I download huge amounts of music, I can give proofs regarding that ;)

You have to be an old member of SA to gain access to the sites you mention.Although you can join SA only old memberships have access.
