Fake Fireworks and Fake Singing in Beijing 2008
The spectacular 2008 Beijing Olympic fireworks show broadcast to the world in the opening ceremony was prerecorded. It was altered and done digitally in 3D computer graphics, according to several news reports

not cute enough?
Lin Miaoke, the lip syncher and Yang Peiyi (inset), the original singer Meanwhile, the girl in the red dress with the pigtails, called Lin Miaoke, 9, and from a Beijing primary school has become the talk of town after she performed the anthem, a patriotic song called “Hymn to the Motherland”. But, the truth is she just lipped sync. The actual singer was Yang Peiyi, a 7-year-old girl who has buck teeth and is deemed unsuitable to go on air.
Footprint fireworks broadcast from the Olympics' opening ceremony turned out to be the months-long work of CGI masters, and now the team behind the real fireworks are coming clean about what went down in the China sky.

CGI or not, I enjoyed the opening ceremonies just fine. :)
Re: Fake Fireworks and Fake Singing in Beijing 2008
I have seen it already.
Anyway It was neat to watch, computer-generated or not.
Re: Fake Fireworks and Fake Singing in Beijing 2008
Or the kid supposedly lip syncing for that matter.
Ignorance is bliss.

Do you like Milli Vanilli at all then.

Same as 99% of people from your country think aluminium planes can fly through re-inforced concrete and steel, defying newtonian laws of motion. The only thing more disgusting than the scraps they throw your way is the way you lap them up.
Happiness in slavery.

I'm sure this is a veiled reference to something...wonder what it could be?
I'm always up for a brisk discussion of Newton's Laws.
Re: Fake Fireworks and Fake Singing in Beijing 2008
I'm pretty clear on Newtonian Laws of Motion but I can't seem to get the point of the plane and steel bit.
Accelerate an object to a high enough velocity and it will go through anything.
I'm thinking your post is more a clear demonstration of the 3rd law.
