Interresting problem OGM/OGG

I have a couple vidoes here that i encoded a couple years ago, into ogm
now just on one tower i am having the following problem.....

With all the proper codecs etc installed, winamp,wmp, anything will not play the files (but explorer will generate a correct thumbnail).
However, when i use a program to re-encode it (ie something like winavi) it generates an output file no problem, works fine.
Just cant PLAY the file on this computer...

Install the K-Lite Codec Pack. Media Player Classic should be able to play it. If not, your system is seriously messed up.

Update: divx player is able to play it, but thats still all. No idea (was tested right after a fresh install).
Whatever, i'll live with it and play them off the xbox.
