Sharapova will still retain her number one ranking. Serena moves up to 14th.

Why can't you believe it, Sharapova played rubbish and scraped thro' almost every match she played. She said herself that she's never played so badly and got to a final.

By contrast, Williams got rid of her ring rust early doors, got better and better in each round and was absolutely flying going into the final.

I didn't watch any of it.

I just thought Serena was done after her injury. Plus Serena nornally beats herself with many unforced errors.

In boxing world that does not make sense.
You beat the leader you become the leader, this is not a tour de france etape.
I don't get it.
