Hello everyone~
I have a similar problem. I am very new at downloading movies from Kazaa, but do have some questions! I will be very appreciative of any help.
Because I'm just now starting to download movies from Kazaa (in the avi and/or DivX form), I'm looking into buying a dvd burner for my computer and a standalone dvd player. I currently only have a DVD ROM player and CD Burner on my computer.
ok....I've noticed that many of the movies are less than 700MB. I have burned a couple of them to a CD-R as data and they do play on my computer. Here are my questions..(please know that I have spent literally about 48 hours constantly trying to figure this out myself using many sources including dvdrhelp.) Unfortuneatly, I can't really experiment since I do not yet have a dvd burner or a standalone player.
1. WILL KAZAA DIVX MOVIES, LESS THAN 700MB BURNED TO A CD-R, PLAY ON A BASIC ($100 average cost) STANDALONE DVD PLAYER? (I've noticed that on dvdrhelp that the players that support the divx mepg 4 cost around $200-$300. Can't afford those)
2. IF THEY WILL NOT PLAY ON A STANDALONE AS A CD-R, DOES THIS MEAN I NEED TO CHANGE THE DIVX FORMAT INTO SOMETHING ELSE? WHAT? OR JUST BURN TO A DVD? I've seen alot about S/VCD'S and know they hold around 800MB, but I don't know where to find blank s/vcd media. Not at my Wal-Mart.
My thinking is that for the divx movies less than 700mb, burn to a cd-r. For those divx movies above 700 burn them to a dvd. Am I really lost? Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not a complete idiot (I hope), but there is a huge amount of information out there to sort through making sure that your dvd burner, media type, and player are all compatible. It's about to drive me crazy.
yeah u need advd palyer that surrports divx to watch them on astand alone dvd player, most dvd players do surrport vcd/svcd, but if i was u, i would invets in a dvd burner they r realy cheap now and plus u get ahole 4.7gig on a disc ;)
