Description

TV is a 0-Day tracker. It appears to have started a bit less than two years ago, but it wasn't until this year that they began to be talked about, thanks to some "promotion" open signups (including opening the doors for ex-ScTers) featured on FILEnetworks and FSF. Until one month ago, they were using a modified TBdev frontend, but later switched to Gazelle.

Content is pretty much the same as on every other mainstream site (although they have some packs) - but if you look at their pretimes, you'll notice they're very good and sometimes even beat the bigger sites such as SCC.

Pretimes: 9 - as I've already mentioned, they're very good.
Speeds: 7 - not as fast as SCC or TL for me. Your mileage may vary.
Content: 8 - same releases you can find elsewhere, but they have a bunch of packs.
Overall: 8 - a very nice and underrated tracker!

Well, this site is moderately good & very easy to have a good ratio.
just idle in their irc & you will get something like 20 or 40MB/hour uplaod, I just can't remember..

It's indeed a good one, although I'd like to see more packs, just like in the aforementioned SCC. Retention is better on those - try downloading the pilot of a TV series like House or Fringe as a single torrent, and then partial leech it from a season pack.

One of their main bot got ass raped, bye bye TV and anyone else who leeched from TheEdge ;)

Ratio keeping is not at all difficult on this tracker although the number of leechers is very few but the seedbonus and "Weekly Market Bonus of 450mb Free Upload " covers it all :)

We have read the forum posts and the feedback we have received lately and we would like to address some concerns here at TV.

Missing/Lack of content

Those in the "know" are already aware of the constant targeting
of TV by other competitive torrent trackers, and it reached a peak
a few months ago in which someone who was helping TV with content
was repeatedly flooded with DDoS attacks until the point where the ISP
that he was using grew tired of the attacks and subsequently canceled
his service. In the meantime as all of this is happening we are putting
100% of our focus into TV 3.0. Which will be feature rich and a totally
new way to use TorrentVault. We know the content will return we just
need our friends (you) to remain as patient as you can be and help us
survive so we can give back with TV 3.0.

TorrentVault 3.0 will sport the latest Gazelle tracker version as well
as many new and upgraded editions to the site.. Some that we are
ready to announce are the following:

- New look!
With customizable skins so if you prefer the classic TV 2.0 look it will
be available to choose.

- Upgraded Requests Page
We are overhauling the Requests Page and giving it a fresh
functional look and fixing some minor issues

- New TV Career Mode
Which will tracker just about everything you do as you use the
site and reward you with unlockables, special icons for your
Displayable Career page and much more!

- Market 2.0 - There will actually be things to buy such as

We would like to point out that our staff does Not provide content at TorrentVault...this is purely achieved by loyal people
that want to help us build a fun site..
All of us are young guys and girls in the 20s age range and are in no way
able to fund a costly site such as TV alone.

Invites: invite only, invites are available and can be bought in bonus shop.

Free leech: many packs and most of the biggest 50 packs are free, has had sitewide, bonus shop (and gift).

Ratio: Easy. (You could make a case for moderate but freeleech torrents, weekly gifts, and bonus shop make me think easy)


Notes: An ok site, over three years old and still close to but not in the top tier of trackers. Stats dont give actual members but members visited this month, that should be good enough. Pre's: found them to be getting poorer and pre's are not shown on browse page (In with the flynns hd: 20 mins slow, Tucker and dale hd hours slower as examples)

TV is a very good tracker but they need more members. Although even poorly seeded files usually offer a very high transfer speed, there are quite a few torrents that have been abandoned. The site features a great marketplace and it also treats its members to frequent free leech periods. Their weekly free 450 MB upload credit helps maintain a good ratio while encouraging participation.

1) TV had only ONE sysop. This meant that noone except him could handle donations or site related things. We asked him for months to promote another sysop, and even having a 2nd developer (which we already found), but he never did. The reason is is unknown to the rest of staff.

2) Only ONE person had access to site donations. The sysop. The rest of staff didn't have any way to handle donations and give out what users donated for. Donors never got promoted and users who donated for GB, never got the paid benefits. When users messaged staff, we gave them what they paid for, BUT without access to PayPal, we could only do so much.

3) It looks like site-related services like servers never got paid, which means the website has been offline for a few days. This without other staff's knowledge. We are just waiting for the iRC server to go offline aswell, but we don't know when that will happen-

The sysop (site owner) came online for a couple of days, but left again. Before that he had been gone for 2-3 weeks without notifying staff. When he came back, he told us that he had been arrested and had spent the time in jail due to personal reasons.

About a week or two ago, staff sent out a site-wide notice telling people to contact PayPal to get their donations cancelled. We know that a couple of users did so, which meant the PayPal account got frozen. But honestly, that's not ours or the users problem. The sysop found out who one of the person was, and sent him a message telling him that he would get banned from site if he didn't take back his claim.

The user apparently never got back to sysop, so his account got banned. That's an absolute unacceptable behavior.

We are very sorry about how this whole mess evolved, but we, staff, had absolutely no way to know what was about to happen. Siteop gave no warning whatsoever.

All we can do is thank all the users for supporting us through good and bad times, and apologize for this shit. We again urge people to contact PayPal to get donations cancelled if possible.

With great sadness we say goodbye and wish you all luck where you will find your new home.
