A scandal  particularly with programming books. When you consider that the 'classic' programming books are bought by millions of students all over the world every year... theres no excuse for the £40-£50 price tag.
try living in australia where a "cheap" new release paperback is over $18.00
botts
yes there way to expensive espically where I live <_<
They're really expensive here too ( France ) due to heavy taxes... That's why I'm damaging my already poor eyesight, reading stuff I download on Kazaa!
Exactly, you'd think they'd realise that people will not pay the prices and are finding other means of reading them.Quote:

Well, if you did something illegal, they wouldn't try to understand... Just sue you and send you to jail or whatever...
They are the Government, they can't be wrong, can they? ;)
My books tend to be older paperbacks from the charity shops
....although as a stereotypically tight yorkshireman, I do think 25 pence is extortionate! :D
Do they not have libraries anymore?
Yes, libraries still exist but I don't like to go there ( too much people, too much noise...), books are in an horrible state ( missing pages, someone wrote in it...) or somebody has just borrowed the book I wanted... Plus I like to have my own books!
