Hard Drives:
1x 14 Gb
1x 10Gb
1x 80Gb
Graphics: Geforce 4 FX , not sure which yet, but it will prob be 128megs
Sound:On board mobo chip
It will be a machine to be reckoned with! RAM will be upgraded to gigabyte eventually
That is a fast track to making a crap computer. The motherboard is the single most important part of the PC. A good motherboard is essential for getting the most out of any of your components.Quote:

Think about it - everything plugs into the motherboard, from your CPU to your floppy drive. If your motherboard is crap, then your PC is crap.
Imagine putting a Ferrari engine into an old Volkswagen Beetle and you'll see what I mean.
It's actually wise to get the best motherboard you can afford so you have plenty of upgrade options later.
I'll make a recommendation for you: get a Asus A7N8X Deluxe; IMO it's the best Athlon-based motherboard currently on the market. Or you could wait and get a later revision which supports the new AMD Athlon FSB speed.
currently:
Athlon 2700+
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (especially recommended by Lamsey :P )
512MB Corsair XMS3500 DDR RAM (2-2-2-5 333MHz or 2-2-2-6 400MHz)
GeForce 3Ti200 64MB (209/500) :(
Lite-On 52/24/52 CD-RW (one day old :) )
16x DVD-ROM
Thermaltake W008R 420W PSU
Some crappy copper heatsink, will replace soon
Aluminium Case (side window (waste of money :( ))
that's about all...
hoping to get a new gpu around about when doom3/half life 2 come out, and might get another 512MB RAM, and of course, a better heatsink/fan to get my rampant cpu temp (44 degrees in mbm5 (though i seriously doubt this, it's more like 51 in bios)) under control
mine is a dell with,
pentium 4 2.8 mhz processer
1x 80 Gb hard drive
1x 120 Gb hard drive
512 mb ram
Asus A7N8X deluxe motherboard (400mhz fsb)
Amd Athlon Xp 3000 (overclocked to 2.2ghz and 400mhz fsb) upgrading soon to a 3200
Copper Core/ Aluminum Side Heatsink with 10,000rpm Cooling Fan (it was a gift so i don't know brand)
1024mb Corsair XMS DDR444 (2sticks of 512) upgrading soon adding another 512 stick
All In One Wonder Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb (never buy this card, even overclocked its a peice of junk) getting the Nvidia Geforce FX5900 ultra 256mb asap
2x 200gig 7200rpm WD Deluxe Hard Drives (very cool hard drives)
22" flatscreen crt moniter (what shows up on this screen also shows up on the lcd)
22" flatscreen lcd moniter (setup as a single moniter tho)
16x/48x Toshiba dvd-rom/cd-rom
52x24x52 Lite On cd-rw
Black Server Tower Case with Antec TruePower 550watt PSU
4x 10,000rpm 90mm case cooling fans (gotta keep that athlon cool) (2 exhaust, 2 intake)
120mm 10,000rpm case cooling fan (in the side, along with a grill over both side) (intake fan)
2x Blue Cold Cathade Case Lights
cheers lamsey, i thought someone might pick up on that, I will check out the mobo you reccomended
so, what do you guys think of this bundle?
Motherboard/cpu/fan/memory bundle
looks pretty good to me, great value for money

I have to say I'd still prefer to look for an nForce2-based motherboard.
yeah, if there is a decent bundle around with it in I may get an nforce, or from seperate parts.
Just gotta go hunt for a cheap yet cool looking case now
