As for nzbplayer, I will check it out. Looks like a very similar program, but free. Thanks.

I believe it might have been added in the versions after the "public" 25.0 version.

Basically it works the same, you just select something that's in your queue then hit the "NZBPlay" icon and VLC (or whatever other player you specify) fires up and starts playing.

It's nice having the option to do that in the same program I regularly use to download.

I'd recommend donating and getting access to the latest version of Alt.Binz.

Unfortunately, because of my screen display configuration, I can't use nzbplayer (see capture attached).

As for alt.binz, I tried it once sometime ago and didn't like it.

Seems like a cool idea, and then a goofy idea.

For a DivX, I don't see why you'd bother, only takes like 10-15mins to download with a fast connection, now a DVD would be a different beast, that you could of watched all of it before you downloaded it, but then why would you want to watch a DVD on your box, personally I put them in my DVD player for my TV...

    Hmmm

For someone like me who has download and upload limits thanks to my ISP, it can be very useful. You can preview the quality of the DivX and interrupt your download at any time if you don't like what you see. Or hear. Like a DivX uploaded in a foreign language (but with the original english title). For DVDs, I haven't fully tested it yet, but if you could see the languages and subtitles menu even after only 5% downloaded, it could be a great feature. There are a few DVDs that I downloaded for nothing, because english (and french in my case) wasn't available.

Would be nice to find something similar to preview a torrent you're downloading.

I have changed my screen display settings in order to be able to try NZBPlayer. Well, the softare simply refuses to connect to my Giganews account. I even lowered my number of active connections from 10 to 8 (as recommended), and nothing happens. It simply says "connecting" forever.

The BinTube Media Player and Usenet Newsreader needs several improvements (which I suggested to the developper), but it does work and I recommend you to give it a try. To quote the developper (said at the Slyck forum) :

"BinTube Media Player streams a much wider range of binary content. In addition to RARed Video it supports Images, audio, dvd images, cd images, nfo files and more. Any of these formats are supported whether or not they are in RARs. It also supports Base64 and UU encoded posts in addition to YEncoded ones. It also performs automatic repair by only downloading the required PAR files to perform the repair."
