    Hey,
    i formated the pc and now i can't run the game
    before formating the pc i played the game normally and there were no problems at all
    but now everytime that i install it, it gives me:


    i installed 1.5 patch ..

    any help?

    Try clean re-install (make sure you delete files that might be left over after the uninstall - like profiles and such)

    i already tried that
    still the same problem

    even before installing the patchs i still receive the same error

    Are your graphic card drivers updated?

    Steam version, store bought version, or downloaded version?

    Have you tried to run the game in Safe Mode?

    EDIT: Try this?

    yea i downloaded the latest version of drivers

    do u mean that when u restart the pc u press F8 and u enter safe mode?

    yep i tried that crack too but still the same problem

    I see different solutions on almost every forum I look at, but found the following a couple of times so try this:

    Go to C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4\miles\ and locate the file called "mssmp3.asi"

    Copy it to a folder that is not anywhere in the Call of Duty directory to use as a backup.

    Go back to where the file was located and delete it.

    Start CoD4.

    2 weeks have passed and i couldn't fix the problem
    but now thxz to skizo and fst i finally fixed the problem!!!!!!!!
