If someone made an 0-day tracker similar to TL, but had NO RARS!. I wouldn't mind that the pre time would be slightly less, but frankly, I could care less about pre-time. It would be so great taking out the hassle of un raring things. This really comes into play when unraring dvd-r's and games when all the damn crc error come up or other errors.

I agree, rars are extremely annoying sometimes. It takes soooooooooooo long to extract.

also means bigger files to seed/leech and importanly to seed back.

also means only the uploader can seed it, you wont get 10 seeds as soon as its uploaded.

Uploaders wont want the hasstle to download a scene release, unrar it, and then make a torrent of both (if they are an uploader of 2 sites)

tbh, i avoid 1 file torrents like the plague now, i have been hit with to many 99% and not finishing at all, uploader has to then reupload the whole lot, very annoying, also you can get CRC errors on 1 file movies, problem is you dont know there is an error until you are 3/4 the way through the movie and it crashed or skips badly.

Rars ftw for me im afraid, which is why BCG will always be multi rars.

good point. AS for other sites, what if no rars became a standard? Then all you have to worry about is giving "credit" which can't be hard....

getting scene files, unraring it, and then uploading is troublesome for uploaders.

if only uploaders could bother that much it would be awesome (unless i am unaware of extraordinary easyness that rar files bring)

i personally dislike unraring files. The rar files are of no use but seeding. Beside, it's not like rar decreases any space. When u unrar a file...you will have ~2x size of the original file (rared one and the unrared one).

it works for bmtv but other then that im not sure if it would work out. like most other things someone would have to do it without knowing if it would work or not and hope for the best. it has a few upsides for us users but as others have said it would be a pain in the ass for the uploaders and those are the last people in the world a tracker would want to piss off.

KG does not allow rar files (i know it's not scene tracker but just an example) but yet people there do give credit to original ripper...if they dunno who ripped it they often say "thanks to the original upper". So i don't think it's big deal...as long as there is a rule saying members should give credit to original rippers or members are already know what to do.

I have no problem with unraring time. More problematic is that, sometimes, I must unrar two times some archives... Than join files with HJSPlit...

I would like clean files. My vote is against RAR.
